Hello all! Happy May!

As many of you know…I ran the relay in the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday! And it was a hot one! 🙂

I ran with 4 other workers/volunteers/friends from the Western PA Humane Society, and I am so, so, so happy to let you know that we SMASHED our fundraising goal!

So a huge THANK YOU to every one who donated and shared our cause–many animals thank you!

We thought it would be funny to call ourselves “The Mutts” because of our mixed backgrounds–and because Mutts are the best breed! We made pretty good time considering our training backgrounds and that it was so hot outside!

We also did pretty good for being 99 years old. 😉

After the race, I wandered around the city and stopped by the finish line to watch everyone after the race. I also stopped by the Humane Society tent for a photo:

After walking around for a while, we decided to get lunch at one of my favorite places on the Northshore–Finnigan’s Wake! I got a salad and my favorite junk food:

Buffalo Chicken Dip!

However, my post running hunger was playing tricks on me–so I ended up eating the salad and downing some water. But the dip came home with me for a snack later!

Overall, it was another great experience and I really can’t thank you enough for all of your support!

xoxo

So I have been doing a lot of thinking over the past week…

I was thinking back over the past few years after graduating college. I was thinking about how different of a person that I have become, and then person I still want to be.

I have had some major life changes—and a lot of minor ones.

I graduated college, and then graduated again.

I found my passion and my talent, and a way to blend the two in a form of a job.

I have dated some guys who made me realize how strong I am, and some that have taught me to be vulnerable.

I have found that some friends grow up with you, and that some grow apart.

I have learned some of the best times for getting to know people are over coffee—or beer.

I have learned that the best way to learn about forgiveness is through the eyes of a shelter animal.

I have learned not to hate my thighs for not being as thin as I want—but to love how strong they are. They did carry my 13.1 miles, after all.

I have learned that the community of healthy living bloggers are inspiring, beautiful and strong.

I have learned that I am my Father’s daughter, over and over again.

I have learned where I want to go in this life, and who I want to take with me on the journey.

So please—join me! I am transforming the blog to “Seeking Amy”, documenting my journey of finding happiness and balance…

…of growing up…

…of finding

…me.
